Bike Repair Stand
Since I was able to get a great deal on the frame I used to build up the bike I ride now, I decided that it would be a helpful to have a repair stand for its assembly and tuning. Since then Lisa has gotten a new bike as well so it works out great to have a stand to do maintenance on both bikes. I found a Park Tools PRS-4W wall mount repair stand on Ebay so I would have the industry standard for the clamp part of the stand. Gregg had a large steel plate from an old store display that he was going to throw away so we took that, a pipe flange, a pipe cap, and a 5' piece of pipe and made what looks just like one of their professional repair stands. The clamp can be moved up and down to adjust the height of the bike and it has all the same features as the full professional version, for less than half the price! I added a tool shelf so I have a place to set wrenches and small parts while repairs are in progress.

Here it is, look at all its majesty

The steel plate that Gregg got from an old store display, it weighs at least 50 lbs.

The recently added tool shelf, should be a great place to set some tools

There are three sets of holes so the height can be adjusted

The clamp is made to mount on the wall but fits perfect mounted to the pipe

There is nothing quite like having a stand to work on a bike, makes everything so much easier
