The Kayaks

A few years ago my parents made us a deal we couldn't refuse on their old kayaks.  We used them for a few years and decided recently that we wanted up upgrade to larger boats that fit us a little better.  Lisa's boat was way too large for her and mine was too small so neither of us were all that comfortable.  I put them out on our front lawn and they sold in one day, for just a little less than we paid for them.  I ordered a Perception Eclipse 17 for myself after test fitting a bunch of different boats.  Lisa felt the most comfortable in a Perception Avatar 15.5, it happened to be a leftover from 2003 so we got awesome deal on it.  While trying to adjust it to fit her perfectly we realized that all the hardware on the right side of the boat was mounted 3" too far forward.  Our dealer got Perception to step up and correct their screw up.  They replaced the boat with a brand new 2005 model, the deal of the century they called it.  These will be a lot faster than what we had and it's amazing how different they feel to sit in, they even have gel seats!  They won't be quite as easy to maneuver and won't be quite as stable but that's part of the fun!  As we get out on day and weekend trips we'll be sure to add pictures below.

06.10.2005:  We packed up the boats and camped overnight at Lake Umbagog State Park in Northern NH

09.02.2005:  The weather was bad so we only got one night out on the lake, 2-3 foot chop, some rain and high winds, Kevin and Sherry joined us and we made the best of it

07.20.2007:  Our first trip out in a couple years and our first trip out on the West coast was amazing!  We paddled on Ross Lake in the Northern Cascades and camped for two nights.  It was so great we'll be back in two weeks!

08.03.2007:  We loved Ross Lake so much that we decided to go back again!  We didn't get as many pictures because were having too much fun.  The weather was perfect and hopefully we'll make it back one more time this year!

09.01.2007:  Once again we found ourselves visiting Ross Lake, it is our new favorite place to go camping.  This time we stayed 4 days, 3 nights and our friends Kyle and Naomi even joined us for 2 of them!

08.28.2009:  We got around to getting passports and were able to get a group together to visit Ross Lake again.  The weather was amazing and we even hiked the Desolation Peak trail!
