Half Bath Renovation

The full wall mirror and the built in vanity will go and the toilet will get replaced too.

We're going to go with a free standing vanity to make the room feel less crowded.

The hot water supply was too far to the left to fit behind the new vanity so I had to move it, the burn marks were already there.

After a chunk of drywall, some joint tape and a bunch of compound it almost looks like it's been that way the whole time.

You can see where the mirror adhesive used to be, a few days of sanding and more compound and we'll be ready for paint, we also replaced the toilet supply valve.

The drywall patch came out ok after multiple coats of compound and a bunch of sanding, I also cut the 45 degree fitting off the drain and replaced it with a straight version, it was only there because they wanted the sink left of the plumbing.

It took a few coats of primer but the adhesive residue is gone and all patching looks nice and smooth, paint is next

I have a couple spots to touch up but the color is done, it seems crazy but should come together when the floor, vanity, toilet, mirror and medicine cabinet get installed.

We installed 1/4" Hardibacker with a combed bed of thinset mortar behind it, this should provide a solid base for the marble tiles.

I got the light fixture installed so I could see what I was doing, the flash really washes out the red walls, the color is much deeper than it looks.

The tile is down and came out ok for my first try, after the grouting I'll be able to install the trim that Lisa just painted and the room will really come together.

The grouting wasn't too bad and came out decent, I also had to install most of the trim before starting on the toilet and sink.

I didn't get any pictures while I was working, just the end result minus a few touch-ups

The floor and all the details came out great, we are very happy with the results even after the few small set backs along the way.

I had a few issues with the vessel sink drain dripping but got them all sorted out, maybe you'll get to see it someday!
