Dining Room Renovation

This is our starting point, the picture from the listing.

I've hated this chandelier since we first looked at the house but until now it hasn't been a priority to get rid of.

It also isn't all that easy to get to, the mount plate is about 14' from the floor so I had to use an extension ladder in the house!

I hung the new one from a hook further up the ceiling to move it out in the room so it could be centered on the table

It looks great so far and once we get some paint on the walls it will look even better.

The new sconce matches the chandelier and looks much better than the one that we put up last year, I even changed out the electrical box so it mounts flush on the wall.

You can see all the patching I had to do on the big wall, I don't know what the old owners did in there but the walls were wrecked!

The stairs were quite tough to paint, there is little space for a ladder up there.

The picture ends where I could no longer reach with the short ladder, it looks aweful when you see the parts I couldn't reach.

After one coat you can still see lots of streaks, it needed two for the right coverage.

All these pieces make up the scaffolding we rented to reach the highest parts of the room.

It only took a few minutes to put it all together and we had it for a whole week.

I had no problem reaching the highest parts from the top platform.

This is the painting that Lisa liked so much, it totally fits with our colors and covers that wall perfectly.

We haven't decided what will be going on this wall, we're just happy to have a usable dining room.

We have this huge table now we just need to convince our family to visit so we can all sit at it for dinner!

I really like being able to look down at these two rooms, it offers a cool perspective.

This painting fills that wall and we have something for the last open wall on order, that and some lamps and we're totally done.
