Jay's Cannondale Prophet

The Prophet weighs in at 29 pounds and is an all mountain bike with just under 6" of travel

The color couldn't be better, orange IS my favorite color!

The bike has tons of carbon fiber parts for strength and to save weight

The Manitou Swinger 3-way shock has SPV (stable platform valving) which is similiar to the Epic's Brain shock

The most unique part of the Prophet is the carbon Lefty, the single sided, single legged front fork

The riser bars and shifters are also carbon fiber, the fork looks quite different on the steerer tube

Cannondale uses a single pivot rear swingarm where the Epic has a 4-link system, each have their benefits and faults

You can really see how strange the front fork looks, the rigidity and weight savings are well worth it

The Mavic wheels have beefy aluminum hubs and large flat spokes, they are much lighter and stronger this way

You can see the heavy carbon weave for the Lefty's main tube and the heavy crown clamps

The drivetrain is SRAM X.0 and Shimano XTR with Hayes hydraulic brakes

The Hayes brakes were bad so I replaced them with Avid Juicy Carbons with 180mm rotor on the front and 160mm on the rear, they work much better

The new Avid brakes have carbon levers that match perfectly with the SRAM X.0 shifters

I'm trying out regular platform pedals for now, they work well but I'm not sure if they are right for me, these are Crank Brothers 5050's
