Jay's Cannondale Prophet


The Prophet weighs in at 29 pounds and is an all mountain bike with just under 6" of travel


The color couldn't be better, orange IS my favorite color!


The bike has tons of carbon fiber parts for strength and to save weight


The Manitou Swinger 3-way shock has SPV (stable platform valving) which is similiar to the Epic's Brain shock


The most unique part of the Prophet is the carbon Lefty, the single sided, single legged front fork


The riser bars and shifters are also carbon fiber, the fork looks quite different on the steerer tube


Cannondale uses a single pivot rear swingarm where the Epic has a 4-link system, each have their benefits and faults


You can really see how strange the front fork looks, the rigidity and weight savings are well worth it


The Mavic wheels have beefy aluminum hubs and large flat spokes, they are much lighter and stronger this way


You can see the heavy carbon weave for the Lefty's main tube and the heavy crown clamps


The drivetrain is SRAM X.0 and Shimano XTR with Hayes hydraulic brakes


The Hayes brakes were bad so I replaced them with Avid Juicy Carbons with 180mm rotor on the front and 160mm on the rear, they work much better


The new Avid brakes have carbon levers that match perfectly with the SRAM X.0 shifters


I'm trying out regular platform pedals for now, they work well but I'm not sure if they are right for me, these are Crank Brothers 5050's
