September 27, 2008:  Now you can officially call us Uncle Jay and Aunt Lisa!  Elle Grace Nault was born on Saturday, September 27th at 530am weighing 7 lbs. 11.6 ounces and 18.5 inches.  From what I've heard all the way out here on the left coast everything went well, Mom and baby are both healthy and happy.  Congratulations to David and Lauren!  I'm sure we'll have more pictures to share soon but this should give you a taste for now.  Other than that news nothing else is new on our front, I have enough trouble coming up with interesting things to write about once a week never mind twice in less than two days!  We just got back from obedience class and Stella didn't pass her test to move on to Level 4, total bummer but we'll get it next time for sure.  She has all the things nailed but for some reason just couldn't do them when it counted, maybe she gets nervous before tests?  Anyway, have a great weekend, I'm off to rebuild a piece of house trim we removed in April when we built the deck, what a slacker!

September 26, 2008:  Just a quick update tonight.  I just uploaded a few new pictures of Stella that we've had on the camera for a few weeks and a few that I took today in the back yard.  It's been raining most of the week but the sun came out and it dried up quite a bit today so it was a perfect day to go to the dog park and get a few things done in the back yard.  I worked late last night so I got to "work from home" today, which is usually a lot of home and not much work.  I've been sending text messages back and forth with my brother and it sounds like Lauren will be having the baby sometime tonight, they are at the hospital now and things are moving along well.  The sex will be a surprise and we haven't heard anything about names yet but I will be sure to keep you all posted and hope to have at least a snapshot by the end of the weekend.  Lisa is working all weekend so it's gonna be just me and Stella, kicking it old school.

September 22, 2008:  Hey again, as always sorry for the delay.  Things are busy as they always are, no news there.  We haven't really done much other than work and hang out at the house a little, no projects to speak of either.  I do have a couple things I need to get done around the house before winter but they aren't really all that big of a deal.  The most important one is to rebuild and replace a piece of trim off the house that I had to remove when we built the shed in the spring, you can't really tell it's gone but I would like to replace it anyway.  We did remove a tree from the front yard last weekend though, that was good clean fun.  It was a small maple tree that was right behind the new water feature and was dropping those little helicopter things and leaves all over the place.  The biggest problem with it was that it was far too big a tree to be that close to the house, it was actually growing up under the eves and was constantly clogging up the gutters.  It did provide a little shade for the garage but to be honest most people, including our neighbors, don't even realize anything is different.  We've gotten word that Lottie is next up at Sweet Creek and hopefully some time in January so if all goes well Stella will have a sister that is actually her half-sister by the end of next May.  She's really starting to grow up and is becoming trust worthy in the house.  We removed the gates we had down stairs so she has free run of the first floor when we're home, she's still in her crate when we aren't.  I put one of them near the top of the stairs so she won't get into anything in the bedrooms unless we are watching her, she has taken quite a liking to an ocasional snooze on our bed lately :)  She loves watching the neighborhood kids play in the street in front of the house and she's now tall enough to sit in front of the windows and see right out, it seems to keep her busy and out of trouble for now.  She also loves watching me leave on the scooter out those same windows but sometimes waits there for hours for me to come back, we'll have to take care of that though.  Speaking of the scooter, it totally rocks and I've been riding it as much as the weather will allow.  I'll probably break the 1k mark on the odometer today or tomorrow!  I'm using it mostly just for commuting so you can figure that those miles would have gone on my truck instead, which after doing the math works out to about $150 in gas savings over the last month.  I'm sure I'll be riding it less over the Winter but I still hope to get out on it a couple times a month until Spring.  I've added a few accessories to it and have one more on order that should hopefully arrive this week.  Once it's on and I can give it a bath I'll grab some pictures and add them under 'Other Stuff' to the left.  We don't have much planned for the Fall this year other than Stella's obedience class, some mountain biking, and maybe a camping trip.  I may be joining a few friends for a kayak camping adventure in the next couple weeks, I'll keep you all posted on that as we figure out the details.  Have a great week and I'll try to get some pictures posted of Stella and the Vespa soon!

September 12, 2008:  I'll start by apologizing for such a long break in updates, we're alive, things are good, but we're as busy as ever.  On the work front for me another person left and we had a new person start so I'm doing all the projects that the old person did plus trying to get the new guy up to speed, basically triple the work as before.  Lisa has been working a few extra hours here and there so there have been a few days that we haven't crossed each other's paths for more than an hour or so here and there.  Stella has been very good and continues to grow into a big dog, some days it seems to surprise even her.  We were at the dog park recently and it seemed to be a surprise to her that she could run as fast or even faster than some of the other big dogs.  We've basically made the decision to get her a little sister in the next year so they can do some growing up together and hopefully enjoy each other's company more than they would if we waited a few more years.  Now we're just at the mercy of when Sweet Creek either breeds Lottie again or maybe Claire for the first time.  I'll be sure to include any updates on this front as we get them.  I passed my motorcyle road test last weekend so now I have my official motorcyle endorsement and can legally ride at night and carry a passenger, yeaahh!  Other than a couple of short mountain bike rides, a short hike to Wallace Falls, and some trips to the dog park we haven't done much.  I'll try to get some new pictures of Stella this weekend and if anything fun happens I'll be sure to let you all know.  Have a great weekend!
