September 24, 2006:  So things went very well at my appointment on Friday and I will be off the crutches very soon if things go well in the next week or so.  He could see lots of new bone growth around the break and was very happy with the amount I have been getting around and working the muscles.  He said that as soon as I felt up to it I could get rid of the crutches.  At this point it's just the weak muscles that are keeping me from walking on my own.  Today I have been using just one crutch and that seems to be working my left quad a lot more, hopefully after a week of that I can ditch the last crutch and get some things done around here.  We've had some rain so the lawn needs to be mowed very badly, both vehicles are filthy inside and out and need a coat of wax for the rainy season, and I'm starting to go mad not being able to work on projects in the garage!  I was able to get a copy of one of my xrays on Friday as well, I did my best to scan it and put together a page with some images from the accident, see it on the left under 'Just Us' if you want.  So far this weekend we've been laying low, we ran a couple errands yesterday and Lisa is out getting some groceries right now.  I went in to work last night at about 11:30pm and didn't get home until after 2am, it was a long night but I wasn't allowed to do the work any other time, which totally sucks.  This week should be quiet, Lisa is working at a couple different stores and I'm going to try to work completely full days.  We don't have any plans for next weekend but it would be nice to go out with a few friends and drink some beers, it's been a long time since we've spent any time with anyone but each other so it would be fun.  Have a great week!

September 21, 2006:  Hello again, just a few things to report, I think.  I seem to be forgetting a lot of stuff lately, hopefully it has something to do with the drugs I've been on and will pass soon.  Lisa has been working as a full registered pharmacist this week but won't start at her own store until the new pharmacy is finished in a few more weeks.  After this week she will probably start floating around to different stores in the area to fill in for vacations and such until the new store is ready for set up.  We had a real nice weekend together, it was a little weird for Lisa to have nothing to be doing, normally when we hang out she is worried about what she is neglecting to be there, not this weekend though.  We ran some errands on Saturday, looked for an ottoman for the living room, found new raincoats at REI, and did some other errands.  We even got to go out for dinner together, it was awesome.  We ended up finding an ottoman and I picked it up on Monday after work, well, I didn't actually do any of it myself, I can't even carry a can of dog food with my crutches never mind something that huge.  They were nice enough to put it in the truck for me and Lisa was able to get it out when I got home.  It fits perfectly with the couch and even opens to store things like blankets and pillows, pretty cool.  Now we have two pieces of furniture, man do we need to get out of this place and get our own house.  This week has been pretty nuts at work and the morning traffic, unreal.  We joined Netflix this week so hopefully we'll have a nice relaxing weekend at home.  It will be nice to watch a couple movies, have a few beers, and in the wise words of Mr. Burns, "From the mightiest pharaoh to the lowliest peasant, who doesn't enjoy a good sit?"  Have a nice weekend.

September 15, 2006:  Well, it's been a long couple of weeks for Lisa with all the studying and worrying but she did pass both tests and is now a registered pharmacist or RPH as people in the biz say.  The law test screwed with her head a bit but she got through it, not that I had any doubts she would.  She won't start in her new store for a few more weeks because the are still building the pharmacy but she's just happy that it's all over with and to be honest I am too!  Now things can start to get back to normal like they were before we started this adventure in Rochester, NY more than three years ago.  So she hasn't heard anything yet but expects to be working in different stores for the next couple weeks but we'll see how that plays out.  Now we can get things around the house back in order and start looking into getting our own house before our lease expires in December.  Our friends Mike and Jane are getting married tomorrow back in Rochester and we really wish we could be there, it will be a great time and our best wishes go out to them!  If it wasn't for Lisa taking all these tests and my accident I think we would have made the trip back for this one, we're bummed that we couldn't make it.  We are going to catch up on some errands and just relax this weekend, maybe catch dinner and a movie with some friends but that is the most we're doing, low key is the motto for the weekend.  Work has been going ok for me, long days though.  By the time I get home my leg is so sore and stiff that I just end up sitting in the recliner and not moving for a few hours, which just makes it even more sore and stiff, I guess I can't win with it right now.  I do notice it getting stronger every day though, I can move it in directions I couldn't a few days ago and I find myself being able to get a lot more comfortable in bed now, I can even lay on my left side!  I feel like in a week or so I will be able to walk on it without the crutches but I don't want to push it, I will be meeting with my doctor next Friday and we'll see what he says after taking another set of X-rays, hopefully he has good news.  There is a big tattoo convention in San Jose, CA next month and Jet from Love Hate is going to be there as well as a guy named Luca that tattood Kim while she was in London this summer.  It's a short flight from here and on a weekend that we're all free so I think we're going to make a road trip.  Jet tells me it's one of the best shows in the world and we won't be disappointed if we go.  Lisa may or may not be able to join me because she won't know her schedule for a few more weeks but I'm hoping it works out for her to come.  Well, other than all that fun there really isn't all that much to talk about so I think I'm going to say bye for now, later.

September 9, 2006:  Nothing real crazy to report on our end.  The rest of Dave's visit was pretty quiet, we did a little driving around and went to the market to get some crab packed up for his trip home.  We also made one of the best dinners I have had in a while, scallops and steak.  Saturday Dave picked up a Sony PSP to use on the flight back home and to have around for going on trips and just messing with.  Lisa suggested that I get one to keep me busy while i'm still laid up and after a little reading about them I agreed it would be fun.  It is a pretty sweet device, built in wi-fi, it plays movies, MP3s, games, views photos and has the best quality screen I have ever seen.  You can use it to browse the web if you want or just use it as a portable media center.  I have to download some software that will allow me to rip the DVDs that we have and format them to fit on the PSP, it's not like I have anything else to do.  It will take a while but if I get them all done I will have a large choice of movies to take with me on any trip.  I'm kind of addicted to this golf game that I picked up, I play it all the time and have trouble putting it down.  As for me and my lucky leg, it was a long week but I'm doing alright.  I worked all week, starting out with just about half days and ending with a full day Friday.  I have a couple things to do for work tomorrow morning but I should be able to do them from home.  Starting next week I'll be working full days if I can take it.  Dragging myself around on the crutches is really tiring, much worse than I would have ever expected that's for sure.  I have tons of projects to do and can't really carry things for myself so it's been a little frustrating but I'll be better soon so it shouldn't be for all that long.  The butterfly tape on my incision came off this week and my tattoo looks absolutely amazing.  In a couple more weeks you will never even know that it was ever cut into, the doctor did an incredible job stitching me up, I'll throw up a picture when it is entirely healed over.  Other than Lisa finishing up her studying and me sitting around there really isn't all that much going on.  I guess we'll talk again soon.

September 1, 2006:  Hey hey, just me again.  Lisa took her test today and when she just called she sounded ok about it.  She won't get the results for up to two weeks so that kind of stinks, the waiting is going to be tough but I'm sure she feels a lot better knowing that the test is done.  She will be taking the law exam in about a week so she'll be doing a bunch more studying in the next few days.  Dave got here on Wednesday and I was able to drive to the airport to pick him up, all by myself.  I have to say that it kind of felt weird to leave without Lisa, we've been together basically non stop since my accident.  Speaking of that, today makes 3 weeks since I got broken.  Yesterday we drove around and did a bunch of sight seeing type stuff.  We went to REI downtown and picked me up some new shoes, then had lunch at an Irish pub in Post Alley called Kells, and then walked through Pike Place Market to check out some seafood.  After all that we drove out to Alki beach to take a few pictures of the city and so Dave could dip his hands in the Pacific ocean real quick.  All that walking around on the crutches basically killed me, I was more tired than I'd been in months, we ended up just hanging out at the house for the rest of the day and crashing early.  I guess we're going to make a late afternoon run to the Pike Place Fish Market so Dave can get a few things to take back to CT with him.  We'll probably go on a road trip to either Mt. Ranier or Mt. Baker tomorrow morning but we'll see how Lisa feels when she gets back from her exam, actually, she just walked in so I'll talk to you all later.
