August 21, 2009:  I just opened the website tonight and couldn't believe that the last update I made was almost two weeks ago, time has been flying faster than ever!  As always we are busy but things are going well.  We had a week or so of rain and generally bad weather after the big heat wave so we haven't been out riding our road or mountain bikes for what seems like a long time.  The weather broke again late last week so we were able to get a few mountain rides before I took off for Houston to build our new facility here.  That build has been a disaster, I'm glad I don't know what we pay the people that do the installation for us because it would be a compliment to say that they are getting 40% of it right the first, second or sometimes third try.  We are supposed to arrive when everything is ready to go and when we get there and nothing is ready to go it makes for an incredibly stressfull week.  We all fly out late tonight and are mostly finished with everything, what we have left we can wrap up from Seattle next week.  Even though it was a mess I'm proud to say we may have actually pulled it off, now I have to mention that three of the devices that totally necessary to make it all go haven't arrived yet.  This means that the whole pile of stuff is going to sit here making heat and noise but not doing much else until that equipment arrives, which will be well past the deadline for everything to be up and running.  So why did we near kill ourselves to get this far you ask?  Well at our company things work much like this:  Say someone gives you a car and says you must use this car in a race and you have to win, your life (or livelyhood) depends on it.  It just so happens that the car is missing two wheels so you mention to them that cars need to have four wheels to drive.  Their answer is, ok, but what does that have to do with you winning the race?.  If you just read that and understand what I mean, you just wore the shoes I've had on for the last three years, they don't smell so good huh?  Have a great week!

August 9, 2009:  Hey everyone, it's been a while huh?  Things have been very busy around here with traveling and overnight work and all the same high stress stuff I've been dealing with for the last few years.  We've wanted to do some riding but the weather has been so good that we haven't been able to do much at all, it's actually been too hot to ride our bikes.  Work has kept me super busy and isn't about to slow down anytime soon.  The house got so hot that Stella took to laying in front of a fan to keep cool, you can see more pictures on her page, Lisa takes plenty and we try to keep that page as updated as possible.  To keep cool through the heat wave we spent some time swimming in a river near our house, the water is super clean and very cool, perfect when it's 104 degrees outside!  Tons of people float down the 4 or so mile section from Snoqualmie Falls into Fall City where our friends live to keep cool in the summer, it's takes four to five hours from start to finish.  We picked up a raft, made a gallon or so of frozen margarita and joined our friends Eric and Isabela last Saturday and then John and Theresa on Sunday after finding a good sun hat and painting on the sunblock to keep our sun burns from getting worse than they already where.  You can see more pictures under 'Adventures' on the right.  Hopefully the water level in the river doesn't fall too much more and we can do it at least one more time this year.  We've been planning another kayak camping trip to Ross Lake at the end of August and this time it looks like we'll have some friends joining us.  I have to make a trip to Houston, TX for work and things are so unsettled that I still don't know when it will actually have to happen but hopefully it works out that I can be back in time for the camping trip.  To be safe John and I started building the kayak trailer today that we need to carry six of the boats to the lake.  It's looking great so far, you can see more pictures as it gets finished under 'Projects' on the left.  That's about it for us for tonight, it's late and I have to be in early tomorrow morning, have a great week!
