November 7, 2006: Our dog Isis, my best friend, left us today. She was loved like a child and will be missed terribly.
If you've spent any time with her I'm sure you would agree. She will always be in our thoughts.
November 4, 2006: Sorry for such a long gap between updates, it was a long week and I didn't really have time. With tons
of help from Petro, Kim, and Lisa I was able to get the decorations done in time for the party. I made a few last minute improvements to the new beer
tap mount, apparently people didn't realize it really worked, I guess I made it look too cool, who knew? We picked up four 90 pound bails of straw to
use as seating in the living room, it made a mess but worked well as looked really cool. I think it's safe to say that it looked better than any
of the past parties, we definetely out did ourselves. The party itself went well, it wasn't as hopping as they used to be back in Rochester but never
expected it to be, that will take a few more years, gotta meet more people first. Neither Lisa or myself took that many pictures but Kim took a whole
bunch and they came out great, I'm working on getting some of the good ones to post. Late that Friday night Petro called me and said that him and some
friends had ordered a block of ice to make a shot luge for the party. We had talked about making one but figured that we had enough stuff going and it
never happened. Little did I know that a 300 pound block of ice really weighed 300 pounds and was about 36" long, 25" wide and a foot thick!
I realized that we were in trouble when they loaded it into my truck with a fork lift. It took Petro and I almost 3 hours to get it out of my truck
and just onto the floor of the deck. Then it was time to drill it for rope lights to be inserted, when we take something too far we REALLY take it
too far! It has a certain stripclub look to it, nice. Its final resting place was a frame we built up on the railing like you can see here.
Much of the creeper punch was poured down those two shoots that night. It just finished melting yesterday because it was warm out, otherwise it would
probably still be out there. We both had a few too many drinks and really paid for it on Sunday, it was rough to be cleaning the house up with as bad a
hangover as we each had. Some of the directions are still up but as soon as I finish this update i'm going to take care of that. Work was busy
for both of us this week, Lisa is working nine days in a row and I have to do some work early tomorrow morning. We started the house hunting process
this week and have a couple appointments next week to get things in line and start looking at some actual places.
We are hoping to be in something by Christmas but not holding our breath. Well, that's about it for me, I'll try to get picture of the party for next
time.
