October 23, 2006:  It was a cool but quick weekend around here.  The trip went really well, it was actually one of the most amazing things I've even been to and technically been a part of.  The tattoo that Jet did for me came out amazing and even won an award.  Kim got her tattoo from Luca and is very happy with the results too.  It was a lot of fun hanging out with Jet again, makes me miss Rochester a little but not even close enough to think about going back there.  There were some unbelievable artists there and most of them were busy tattooing all weekend.  Kat Von D from that show Miami Ink was even there, I got a quick picture with her because I'm a complete dork, you can see it and some others under 'Adventures' on the left.  We were hoping to get out to party a little but after all the walking around and tattooing we were too tired to do anything but take a nap.  It sucked that Lisa couldn't make the trip, every time I saw something cool I just wanted to get on the phone and tell her about it.  She has been working for six days straight and has tomorrow off before working another two days in a row before having a long weekend off.  The Halloween party is this weekend and I took Friday off work, oh, and it's my birthday too, should be a fun weekend.  It will be nice to spend some time with Lisa, it's been a while since we've both had time.

October 19, 2006:  Hey again, just gonna ramble on for a few minutes.  We had a great weekend together mostly just hanging out around the house.  We ran a couple errands including checking out this clog store downtowm for Lisa.  We watched the newest batch of Netflix movies from our list and had a few drinks Saturday night.  I finished up a couple of Halloween party projects I had been working on, the first one is a mount for the beer tap.  I also put together another fog chiller to use with the fog machine.  I've built one of these before but it didn't make the trip from NY.  I changed the design a bit from how the original one was put together, hopefully this will work as good or maybe even better.  This one will certainly look better than the original one and it's going to fit well with the rest of our party decorations.  You can find a couple pictures of both of these under 'Projects' at the left and I will try to add some of them in action after the party.  Other than that and some cleaning up around the house the rest of our weekend was pretty quiet.  Lisa's work schedule was supposed to become consistant this week but her manager changed it again and says it's going to change again.  It will probably end up being exactly how Lisa suggested it should be in the first place too.  She says that the pharmacy has been steady but not too busy, perfect for her to start out.  I haven't been in since opening day, I'll try to stop by and visit again soon though.  The next few weekends are going to be pretty busy, Lisa is working this weekend and I'm going to a tattoo convention in California.  Jet from Love Hate is going to be there and he tells me this might be the best show in the country to check out.  It's a short flight so I figured it would be worth checking out.  Next week I have to start getting the decorations up for the party.  We aren't going to go too nuts, mostly just some orange and purple stings of lights and a few other things.  That weekend is my birthday and the party and then the weekend after Lisa is working again.  Sometime in November I will be flying to Denver for work so we won't have a free weekend for a while longer.  Well that's about enough for me, have a great weekend!

October 11, 2006:  And we're back!!!  Things are still pretty nuts around here but should be slowing down soon.  Lisa spent all of last week getting the pharmacy ready at her new store.  She put in long hours each day but I think it paid off in the end, they opened Sunday and it looks awesome.  They even got to spend a couple days pimping Target Pharmacy to the doctor's offices in the area while the construction was being finished up.  They aren't super busy yet but that's how she figured it would go down, it will get busy in time though.  My week didn't go quite that well, on Wednesday I was connecting a new network switch to the production network and as Lisa would say, "everything ruined".  Of course the person that is teaching me about how the network is set up was out sick and couldn't be reached.  I flopped around like a dying fish for about a half an hour before I figured out what was happening and what I had to do to fix it.  While that was going on the CEO/Owner and every important person between him and me were either on the phone or in the room hovering over me asking what was wrong.  I can safely say it was the most stressful work experience I've ever had.  I spent the rest of the week in meetings and on the phone with vendors trying to figure out exactly why this happened.  Basically we'll never really know why it happened, hopefully we can convince the important people that it won't happen again.  Probably the worst thing to come out of this is that any work like this that I have to do in the future will have to be done after midnight on Saturday nights, not real excited about that.  I didn't have to work at all this weekend so I started getting ready for the Halloween party.  I moved some stuff into the garage that will be in the way, cleaned and organized up the office and the big surprise, mowed and weed wacked the yard.  The last one was a little tough, I've been walking with a cane when I'm home so I just did that.  It worked ok but I honestly over did it, both of my legs were pretty sore at the beginning of the week.  I also picked up some of the things I need to finish the few Halloween projects that I want to have done for the party.  When I finished all that I was able to put together a mount for the beer tap.  I'll post some pictures after the party but for now I'll just say there is a severed hand involved, that's what I'm talking about!!!  I have a few more things to get done but should have enough time, I'll probably finish most of it tomorrow after work.  With the odd schedule that Lisa is working she will actually be off for 5 days in a row every other week, that happens to fall on this weekend so we're going to take a drive out to Leavenworth for the day, it's nice ride and we haven't been there since last year.  Well, Lisa should be on her way home from work and it's getting close to my bedtime, if you're interested in more info about the party drop us an email.

October 1, 2006:  Well, what a week we had, just a bit closer to being normal again.  The rest of the week went by without much to talk about.  Lisa worked four straight 12 hour shifts so by Friday night she was pretty tired.  Once she starts in her normal store she shouldn't have to work that many shifts in a row but that remains to be seen, her and her partner pharmacist will be making up the schedule later this week.  Speaking of her new store, we went by and checked out the brand new pharmacy on Saturday so she could get a feel for how it was laid out and how much work they have to look forward to when they set it all up next week.  They have to order all the drugs, set up all the shelves and get everything ready for the opening on Sunday.  I'm sure she will be working a bunch of hours this week, they have to do whatever it takes to get it ready in time.  My dad sent me a couple photos from my grandfather's 90th birthday dinner last weekend.  I noticed a couple things from them, first it looks like they had a great time and second he doesn't look even close to 90 years old!  It sucks that we couldn't make it but my brother did so that's good, it looks like they fun.  Speaking of fun, we went to the Red Hook brewery with Kyle and Thomas this weekend for a few beers and it was awesome.  It did prove that we haven't gone to a bar for drinks in a long time, we were done after three, lightweights.  The rest of the weekend was super mellow, we ran an errand or two and sat around watching movies.  Today I heard back from a friend of Kim's and we are going to all get together and throw the 6th annual Halloween bash at our house.  It makes perfect sense to have it here, with this place being torn down after we move out.  Hopefully we'll get an evite out in a few days, feel free to drop me a line if you want to be on the list, hopefully a few people that came to the parties back in the day might want to make the trip out, we have plenty of places to crash.  I started going through the decorations tonight and everything we need is there but I have a couple things to build, a fog chiller and a tap holder.  I'll be sure to add them to the projects section when I get done.  Gregg sent me some pictures of Matthew riding the motorcycles at the fair this weekend, I'm pretty sure I rode that very same ride back in 1977, pretty sure they haven't done anything other than grease it since then.  Have a great week!
